Hello

Zosia Solonschmitt is a composer, committed thinker, artist, and nonperforming violinist & vocalist. She fell in love with music at the age of 3 when, upon hearing Hillary Hahn’s album of Bach violin concertos, she declared, “Mama, that’s what I’m gonna play.”

Starting violin lessons at 6, Zosia began her musical-studies with Suzuki method, Celtic and Polish folk styles, and American Fiddle. In 6th grade, she started playing alto sax in the school band, where her love for jazz flourished, later leading her to jazz singing and composition. Including and beyond these experiences, her curious spirit & ears (quickly and ...or have) continuously beckoned her to listen to and learn music from all over the sonic and geographical map.

As well as having a deep fascination and love for sound itself, Zosia is interested in the ways that music can connect us to our humanity, help us to explore complex concepts & ideas, and get us acquainted with, expand, & rearrange the ways in which we think, discuss, understand, create, interact/relate, live. ​​

Zosia started at Berklee College of Music in Fall of 2018 and graduated with a degree in Jazz Composition. Her other interests include nature, photography, fiber arts, philosophy, language, & speculative fiction.
